Welcome to my world — where graffiti meets passion and creativity turns into clothing. I’m Brittany, the creator behind Janky Bri, a street-inspired brand built from my original graffiti tag. This post is the story of how a teenage hobby turned into something real — my art, my vision, and my business.
Hey, Brittany here
So where did this whole store come from? Honestly, it all started with my love for graffiti — well, my graffiti tag, to be exact. I made it a few years ago and completely fell in love with it.
Of course, in the beginning, it was sloppy. Back then, a clothing brand wasn’t even a thought — I was just a teenager who wanted to tag her “super cool” name everywhere.
🔥 From Tag to Identity
Over time, I built it from the ground up. I’d never heard the name before — no “Janky Bri,” no “Janky” anything — and that’s when it hit me: Yeah 😏 this is perfect… yeah 😏 I love this.
<p>From that point on, everything in my world became “Janky Bri.” My Instagram, maybe even my old Twitter (it’s deleted 😂), and of course, my graffiti tag.
I practiced that tag over and over until I could scribble it perfectly in seconds. Eventually, I started signing all my drawings as “Janky Bri” — imagine it in a bold, graffiti-style font 😎.
🎓 The School Chapter
That same year, I wasn’t paying much attention in school — but I still got my work done, earned a scholarship, and graduated.
Graduating was a huge deal for me because there were so many times I wanted to give up. But I did it for my mom — she always wanted me to finish school and get an education.
College was an idea, but not really my idea. I’ve always loved reading, architecture, and psychology, but hated the pressure of school I hated that I sucked at doing my absolute best ( because it was school). I even took two different automotive classes (and yeah… quit both 😅).
I procrastinated, half-assed a lot of assignments, and still made it through. So yeah, I used to feel like a failure because I knew I could’ve done more — but hey, I still graduated. And that’s something ✨
💻 The First Shopify Chapter
After a year of sketching and turning everything “Janky Bri,” I decided to make a Shopify store.
Picture this: me in 11th grade (2022–2023), on a free school Chromebook with free Wi-Fi, building my very first website. I made a few weak designs, tried dropshipping, hated it, and eventually archived the whole thing because I thought it was trash 😭.
But fast-forward to 2025 — I’m back and better
💫 The Comeback
Now, I’m doing it all myself — the designs, the catalogs, the research, and the consistency. I’m taking it way more seriously this time and putting real love into it.
I’m Brittany — and this is my store ☺️
Oh, and if you’ve ever heard of Janky Living or Janky Shyt, that’s me too! My YouTube channel is JankyLiving, and that’s where “JankyShyt” started. My subscribers became the JankyShyts so yeah… we’re all a little janky here 😏💫
